John Boor, a native of Cumberland Valley Twp., died Apr. 8, 1891 in Bedford at age 73. His wife survives. His children are: Mrs. Daniel Miller of Bedford, Mrs. F. M. Amos of Bedford, Mrs. W. W. Stiffler of Bedford, John Wy. Boor of Bedford, Mrs. W. S. Lysinger of Snake Spring Twp., Frank P. Boor of Ellerslie, Md. and Mrs. D. W. Prosser (wife of the county treasurer). His sister is Mrs. Margaret Easter of Missouri.

Prosser, D. W.
D. W. Prosser was born in Bedford. In early life he followed farming. He
was a soldier in the late war, serving in Co. D, 55th regt. Penn. Vols.,
from 1861 to May, 1865. He was in the rebel prisons at Andersonville and
Camp Lawton from May 16, 1864, to April 28, 1865. Since the war he has been
engaged in milling principally. In 1875 he purchased the gristmill at
Pleasantville, which he now owns and runs (in 1884).
