There is no direct evidence linking Maria Magdalena Drach
as the wife of Michael Weisel. Her relationship to Michael Weisel,
is based on the following circumstatial evidence.
1) Rudolph Drach and his wife Mary Elizabeth were baptismal sponsers
for a female child born to Michael Weisel and Magdalena.
Tohickon Union (Reformed) Church, Bucks County
page 138 Mary Elizabeth of Michael Weisel and Magdalena
baptized. Oct 14, 1753 Witness Rudolph Drach and wife
2) Rudolph Drach had 6 daughters listed in a deed transfer of land
to his sons Henry and Adam Drach.
January 5, 1770 between Rudolph Drach of Rokhill Township, County of Bucks, and Province of Pennsylvania, yeoman, of the one part, and his sons Henry Drach and Adam Drach...
And said Henry and Adam shall pay 40 pounds each to my five daughters Elizabeth, Madalenck, Margaret, Ann Margaret, and Ann Mary, and the said Henry to pay unto my daughter Susannah Drack 5 pounds.
Magdalena is listed as the second daughter. If the daughters are listed in birth order, then Magdalena is born about 1830-1832. This correlates to her possible age based upon the births of her children. Her first son was born Sep 1750 and her last child was born in 1776. If she was born in 1730 she then married about 1749 at age 19. She then had her first child at age 20, and her last child at age 46.

History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania
>From the Discovery of the Delaware to the Present Time
Darrahs family
The Darrahs of this county and other parts of the state and union are
descended from a Scotch-Irish ancestor who settled at Deep Run. Thomas
Darrah came from the north of Ireland about 1725 and settled in Horsham,
now in Montgomery county. After living there a few years he sold his
property and removed to Bedminster, where he patented about eight hundred
acres of land. Who, and when he married we know not, but at his death in
1750 he left his estate to his two eldest sons, the other sons and three
daughters, viz: Robert, Thomas, Henry, William, James, Susannah, and two
others names not known. The oldest son Robert married a Jacoby, whose
descendants live in the lower part of the county, the second son, Thomas,
had two sons Thomas and Mark, and several daughters, and their descendants
numerous. Thomas married twice, his second wife being a daughter of Colonel
Piper, of Bedminster and had seven children. The wfe of Charles Wigton, of
Doylestown, is a daughter of Thomas Darrah the third. The daughters of Thomas Darrah the second married into the families of Phair, Denny, Ferguson, Walker and Bryan. Henry the third son of Thomas Darrah married Ann Jamison and removed to New Britain, now in the
upper end of Warrington. Where Henry Weisel lives. He was a captain of militia during the Revolutionand served several tours of duty under General Lacey and others; was probably in the Amboy expedition, in 1776, and died in 1772?(mistake, could mean 1882) From cold contracted in service and was buried at Deep Run. The family have a tradition that General Washington several times stopped over night with Henry Darrah, and that on such
occasions the children were sent to a neighbor's that he might not be disturbed by their noise. His children were James, William, John George, Ann and Margaret.

There are two other George Weisel names listed for Bucks County in this
census. One lived in Tinicum Township, the other in Richland Township.
Neither fit the age ranges of George L. Weisel.
It is believed that George L. Weisel and Margaret, his wife, had living with
them their daughter Mary b. 1797 and their son, John George b. 1799. George
L. Weisel would have been 27 years old, his wife Margaret 25 years. The
extra persons listed may have been live hired help, one male for farm work
and the other female for domestic help. The young people do not match the
gender requirements. There should have been one male and one female in the
0-10 category rather than two males.
George L. Weisel - age 27
Margaret - age 25
Mary Weisel - age 2
John George Weisel - age 1

them their daughter Mary b. 1798, their sons, John George b. 1799 and
Michael b. 1802. George L. Weisel would have been 37 years old, his wife
Margaret 35 years. There apparently was another older male who might have
been a hired farm hand or a relative with a young child.

The census indicates that the two farms were adjoining properties since one
entry follows the other. From the first entry, it seems likely that Henry,
the oldest son, had married by this time and left his father's house. The
second entry shows a three generation household, with George L., his son
[John] George [he apparently had dropped the John], and their children.
It is unknown whether Isaac was Maria's son from a previous marriage.

Notes on the children of Michael Weisel:
1) There is record of 8 children born to Michael and Magdalena in the Tohickan church records of Bucks County.
2) One child is known to have died young in July of 1758. This is likely daughter Veronica.
3) Only three sons are mentioned by name in the 1796 will of Michael Weisel. Michael, Henry, and George. These 3 individuals, their spouses, and descendants are documented.
4) John Weisel born in 1767 was not mentioned by name in his father's will. It is presumed John relocated in the 1790s to St. Clair Twp, Bedford County, PA and was the John Weisel who died in Bedford County, age 77, in 1844.
5) The wording in the will implies there were at least 5 children living in 1796. "And further it is my will and I do order that my sons Michael, Henry and George shall have equal shares with the rest of my children out of the money arising out of my real and personal estate and each of my children shall have equal share and share alike in the whole of my estate." The phrase "rest of my children" implies the 3 named and at least 2 more.
6) Marie Elisabeth Weisel was confirmed in 1768. There is data in the FHL IGI file and one match found on worldconnect.rootsweb.com that states M. Elisabeth married Philip Stieber/Stever 5 Apr 1774 in Keller's Lutheran Church, Bucks Co. The marriage fact has not been authenticated and no lookups have been done for possible children (and baptismal sponsers) for Philip and M. Elisabeth Stever.
There is one additional piece of circumstantal evidence she married Daniel Vollmer/Follmer/Fulmer. This is based on the Tohickan church records for "Daniel Vollmer & Maria Elizabeth child Maria Magdalena b. 6 APR 1774 bap. (not listed) wit Michael Weisel & Catherine Geres, single". If the mother of the child is Maria Elisabeth Weisel, the witness to the baptism was her brother Michael Weisel. Marriages weren't recorded in the Tohickan records until 1788. Additional research will need to be conducted on the family of Daniel and Maria Elisabeth Fulmer of Bucks County.
7) No data has been found for Maria Catherine. It is presumed she died young.
8) Maria Magdalena is possibly the child of Michael Weisel confirmed in 1795 listed as age 15. Some researchers have Maria Magdalena Weisel married to Henry Freed of Rockhill Twp. No sources for this marriage are supplied. "Family lore" is cited in one instance. Additional research will need to be conducted on the family of Henry and Maria Magdalena Freed of Bucks County.
Notes from H. Alan Weisel, State College, PA, May 2002
1) Michael Weisel [Jr.] (1750-April 29, 1818) is buried in the Lower Tinicum
Union Cemetery - Fox Graveyard with a Revolutionary War marker on his grave.
This information was obtained from the Lower Tinicum church history volume in
the Spruance Library, Doylestown, PA
2) Early Bedminster and Tinicum Township Tax Rolls
Michael Weisel, Jr. is the eldest son of Michael Weisel, Sr. and Magdalena
Drach. He is listed, along with his father, Michael Sr., on the tax rolls
for Bedminster Township in 1783. Their names appear again on the 1793 rolls,
and the 1796 rolls. Michael Weisel Sr. died in June, 1796. The 1798 tax
rolls show only George Weisel and Michael Weisel, Jr. in one entry followed
by Henry Weisel, the second son. This George Weisel is almost certainly
George L. born in 1773. The 1800 Bedminster tax rolls show only George Wisel
and Henry Wisel.
3) Michael Weisel [Jr.] appears on the 1800 Tinicum Township [Bucks] tax rolls
and is immediately followed by a George Wisel. The occupation of both men is
listed as tavern keeper and George is also listed as having a sawmill. It is
believed that George Weisel of Tinicum is the son of Jacob Weisel. These
records seem to indicate that he was in business with his cousin, Michael
Weisel. George apparently was more successful than Michael as he
progressively pays more land tax than does Michael. This success may have
been a factor in his migration in 1805 to Lycoming County where he set up a
mill and went into business for himself. It is believed that John, the
middle son of Jacob Weisel, also migrated from Bucks County to Bedford County
a few years after the death of his father.
Church records transcribed from Keller's Lutheran Church show a Marie Elisabeth Weisel married Philip Stieber in 1774 with the marriage taking place in the home of Michael Weisel.
The biography of John Stever (see Philip Stever) states the immigrant Philip Stever married Marie Elizabeth Keller on October 8, 1756. If Marie Elizabeth Weisel married Philip Stever, then it would have been a second marriage for Philip and he would have been approximately 20 years older than his second wife.
Addtional research needs to be done to verify this marriage. Does a death record exist for Marie Elizabeth Keller Stever and Marie Elizabeth Weisel Stever? What are the birth dates for the youngest children of Philip Stever and who were the sponsers?

History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania Edited by J. H. Battle Philadelphia PA., Chicago Ill.: A. Warner & Co., Publisher 1887. Davis' History of Bucks County, Volume 3, page 729-730:.
Michael Weisel was born in the Palatinate in the year 1720, and was therefore twelve years of age when he accompanied his parents, Michael and Susanna, to Pennsylvania. He married Magdalena _____, and was a resident of Bedminster township, Bucks county, until his death, June 24, 1796, at the age of seventy-six years. He was a member of Tohickon Reformed church, and the baptism of three daughters appears of record there in 1753, 1756 and 1758, respectively, but they probably all died young, as no daughters are mentioned in his will. He purchased 253 acres of land adjoining the Bedminster homestead on the south, of Chief Justice William Allen, and also received a conveyance from his brother Jacob for a part of the 281 acres purchased by his father in 1743, and conveyed the greater part of both tracts to his three sons, Michael, Henry and George, during his lifetime, devising to them at his death what remained. Of these three sons,Michael, the eldest, was twice married, his first wife being Catharine and his second, whom he married August 19, 1794, being Mary Sorver. He purchased of his father a portion of the homestead, and also purchased a portion of his grandfather’s original purchase of his uncle Jacob, but later sold his Bedminster land and located in Tinicum township, where he died in 1830, leaving four sons, Michael, Daniel, Tobias, and Samuel, and five daughters, who married into the families of Smith, Bissey and Swartz. George Weisel, the youngest son, born March 11, 1773, married Margaret Sheib, April 19, 1796. He received from his father a portion of the old homestead, but later sold it and removed to Montgomery county, and late in life purchased a farm in Warrington township, later occupied by his son George and grandson Samuel, where he died April 19, 1862, in his ninetieth year.

In 1822 he conveyed sixty-five acres of the homestead to his son George, and died seized of most of the other tracts in 1831. Henry and Eve (Shellenberger) Weisel were the parents of six children: Susanna, born 1789, married Philip Fluck ; George, born March 28, 1790, married March 31, 1812, Catharine Fluck; Joseph, born July 10. 1793, purchased the homestead at his father's death; Henry, born January 29, 1796, married September 3, 1820, Elizabeth Seiple, and removed to Franconia, Montgomery county; Mary, born 1802, married Henry Eckel, of Bedminster; and Samuel, born August 1, 1804.
