  •

  • There are two other George Weisel names listed for Bucks County in this

census. One lived in Tinicum Township, the other in Richland Township.

Neither fit the age ranges of George L. Weisel.

It is believed that George L. Weisel and Margaret, his wife, had living with

them their daughter Mary b. 1797 and their son, John George b. 1799. George

    L. Weisel would have been 27 years old, his wife Margaret 25 years. The

extra persons listed may have been live hired help, one male for farm work

and the other female for domestic help. The young people do not match the

gender requirements. There should have been one male and one female in the

0-10 category rather than two males.

    George L. Weisel - age 27

    Margaret - age 25

    Mary Weisel - age 2

John George Weisel - age 1

Michael b. 1802. George L. Weisel would have been 37 years old, his wife

Margaret 35 years. There apparently was another older male who might have

been a hired farm hand or a relative with a young child.

    George L. Weisel - age 37

    Michael Weisel - age 38

  • Census:

  • 1850 (age 76-77)

  • Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA13

  •

  • The census indicates that the two farms were adjoining properties since one

entry follows the other. From the first entry, it seems likely that Henry,

the oldest son, had married by this time and left his father's house. The

second entry shows a three generation household, with George L., his son

[John] George [he apparently had dropped the John], and their children.

It is unknown whether Isaac was Maria's son from a previous marriage.

Note on Child 3: Michael WEISEL

There is no evidence Michael Weisel ever married.

In the 1850 and 1860 census, at age 48 and 58, Michael

Weisel was part of the household of John George Weisel.

It is believed Michael Weisel was part of the household

of his father George Weisel in the 1830 and 1840 census.

(Refer to his brother John George Weisel for census detail.)
