  • In the 1830 census for Michael Wisely b. ~1775, there is only one female documented age category 15-19 and that would fit Margaret b. 1812.

Note on Husband: Michael WISELY

In the 1820 Wythe County census, Michael and his wife, born abut 1775 were the parents of 2 sons and 3 daughters.

Note on Child 1: Michael WISELY

Michael Wisely who served in the War of 1812 is possibly the son of John David Wisely b. ~1773 or Michael Wisely b. ~1775. Other than his military service in the War of 1812, there is no further information regarding Michael and he was not found in the 1850 census.

Note on Child 3: Mary Magdalena WISELEY

Note - There is no source for the parents of Mary Magdalena (Molly) Wisely or her marriage to John Phillippi. Mary Magdalena (Molly) can be ruled out as the daughter of Peter Wisely or Daniel Wisely as she is not named in their wills or probate records. That leaves John David Wisely or Michael Wisely. No early census records have been found for John David Wisely but we know Michael Wisely was a parent to 2 sons and 3 daughters in 1820. At this time she will be arbitrarily assigned to Michael Wisely.
