  • There is no direct evidence to support parents for Michael Wisely who served in the war of 1812. Secondary evidence is two sons were recorded for Michael Wisely in the 1820 Wythe County census.

     

    John Jacob Wisely, son of Daniel Wisely and Frederick Wisely, son of Peter Wisely served in the 4th Regiment of the Virginia Militia in the War of 1812. A third Wisely, Michael, also served in the 4th Regiment. Michael Wisely, an estimated birth year of 1795, could also have been a son of John David Wisely.

Michael Wisely who served in the War of 1812 is possibly the son of John David Wisely b. ~1773 or Michael Wisely b. ~1775. Other than his military service in the War of 1812, there is no further information regarding Michael and he was not found in the 1850 census.
