George Wisel/Weisel was the son of George Weisel (1720-1802 Bucks Co. PA). He is recorded as enlisting October 1781 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. A DAR applicaiton was filed in 1959. U.S. Sons of the American Revolution Membership Applications

The Pennsylvania Archives, Series 5, Volume 5, pages 373 and 378 lists the following Weisel names belonging to Captain William McHenry's Company in Bedminster Township. This company was part of the 4th Battalion, Bucks County Militia: Class Four Fedrick Wisel [Frederick Weisel] Class Five Mickel Wisel, Jr. [Michael Weisel, Jr.] Class Eight Hanry Wisel [Henry Weisel] George Wisel [George Weisel] Of these four men, two can now be definitely identified as sons of Michael Weisel (1720-1796). Michael Weisel [Jr.] (1750-April 29, 1818) is buried in the Lower Tinicum Union Cemetery - Fox Graveyard with a Revolutionary War marker on his grave. This information was obtained from the Lower Tinicum church history volume in the Spruance Library, Doylestown, PA Henry Weisel (April 6, 1760 - May 26, 1830) is buried in the Tohickon Union Cemetery with a Revolutionary War marker on his grave. This information was obtained from a volume titled "Bucks County Tombstone Legends" in the Centre County Historical Library and Museum, Bellefonte, PA
