    AGED VETERAN DIES

    Martin Funk, of South Fork, Expires at Age of Eighty-three Years

    Special to the Tribune

    South Fork, Sept 17 - Martin Funk, a native of Huntingdon County and a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home here at 8 o'clock this morning at the age of eighty-three years. Mr. Funk fought in Company D, Eleventh Pennsylvania Cavalry under Capt. Skelly. He had resided in this town and vivinity for the past forty years and was one of the best known residents of the community. His death followed a long illness of rheumatism. He leaves a wife and one brother, Henry, of Blacklick Township.

    Undertaker George will have charge of the interment to be made in the South Fork Cemetery on Thursday morning after services at 10 o'clock at the late home of the decedent.

NONAGENARIAN AT SOUTH FORK DEADMrs. Esther Funk, Aged 96, One of Cambria County's Oldest ResidentsSouth Fork, June 16 - Mrs. Esther Funk, one of the oldest residents of Cambria County, died at 12 o'clock last midnight at the home of Joseph H. Wicks of Main Street this place, a relative of the deceased. She had been aliling for several years but her condition did not become serious until three weeks ago at which time she was removed from her own residence to the Wicks home. Her death was attributed to disease incident to old age.Mrs. Funk was a resident of South Fork for many years. Her husband, Martin Funk, expired here a number of years ago. She is survived by an adopted son, Torrence Shuber Funk, with whom she resided.The body has been turned over to Undertaker C. O. Dimond to prepare for burial. Funeral arrangements have been completed. The obsewuies will be private, only the immediate friends and relatives to attend.17 June 1922 Funeral for Mrs. FunkSouth Fork, June 17 - Funeral services for the late Mrs. Esther (Weisel) Funk, aged 96 years. who died at midnight on Thursday at the home of Joseph H. Wicks of Main Street, this place, will be held at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Wicks residence. Services will be in charge of the Rev. George H. Jones, pastor of the Conemaugh Church of the Brethren. Burial will be made in the South Fork Cemetery
