Sigrid Eriksdatter was also known as Sigrid Erickson Dalen. Went to America from Kristiansand in 1889. Owned a farm in the Turtle Mountains in 1890.
We called it "Sigrid landet". That was what uncle Matt bought and Dad build out house on a
corner of it. She married Ole Tores Svean in 1910. He had a farm in Scandia twsp.

Johan H. Dalen, a well known farmer who resided five and one-half miles northwest of Souris, died Christmas day after an illness of six weeks with typhoid fever. He was born in Norway, March 18, 1873, and is survived by a wife and three children. The remains were interred Bethesda cemetery. He appeared in the census in 1875 at Ansetdalen in Lesja, Oppland, Norway.⁵ He appeared in the census in 1891 in Ansetdalen, Lesja, Oppland, Norway.⁶ He immigrated in 1897 to North Dakota, USA. Marit Hansdatter was born on 24 July 1877 at Ansetdalen, Asen, in Lesja, Oppland, Norway. Thor Haugen and she were married on 18 November 1921 at Trinity Luthern in Souris, Bottineau County, North Dakota, USA.^1,2 She died in 1958 at age ~81. YOD from gravestone. She was buried at Emmanuel Lutheran Brethren Cemetery in Carbury, Bottineau County, North Dakota, USA. Marit is buried in Emmanuel Lutheran Brethren Cemetery with her brothers John H. Dalen and Math H. Dalen. They share identical style gravestones.³

Marit Hansdatter was also known as Mary H Dalen. Marit first emigrated to the US in 1897. She then returns to Norway before 1910 when she's enumerated in the census with her brother at the Ansetdalen farm. She then returned to the US in 1913. She appeared in the census in 1891 in Ansetdalen, Lesja, Oppland, Norway.⁴ She immigrated in 1897 to USA. Immigration year 1896 from the 1900 and 1930 census.
