Herbert Melford Hanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hanson, passed away at the Starbuck Hospital at 8:40 o'clock on Monday evening, April 5th. He had had a bad cold for a few days and on March 31st he became quite sick and was forced to bed. The doctor was called on April 1st and on Sunday he was taken to the Starbuck Hospital. Pneumonia set in and was the immediate cause of his death.

Herbert Hanson was born near Lowry on May 23, 1912. He was baptized on July 7th, 1912 by Rev. O. Dahle and was confirmed on August 1, 1926 in the St. Pauli Church by Rev. J. G. Vaage. His whole life was spent on the home farm with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hanson. He was the only remaining son, his brother having died two years ago.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, April 10, at one o'clock at the home and at two o'clock at the St. Pauli Church at Lowry with Rev. A. J. Sheldahl in charge. At the home Olaf Erlandson sang "Hvor det blir gaat at lande ved himlens stile kyst," and at the church the congregation sang "I know of a sleep in Jesus name" and the choir sang "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" and "Still, Still with Thee." At the cemetery the choir sang "Abide With Me."

Pallbearers were the following five cousins, Johnnie, Edwin and Arthur Thompson, and Earl Weisel, Wallace Erlandson and a friend Clifford Hagen.

The Tribune joins with the many friends in extending sincere sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Hanson.

Johnnie George Hanson was born July 16, 1907, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hanson, living on a farm east of Lowry. He grew to young manhood there. He was not feeling well after an attack of measles a month ago and was taken to Starbuck hospital the 29 of May. He died from pneumonia at 8 o'clock Monday morning, June 3. His parents, sister and brother were at his bedside at the time he passed away. Johnny was a lovable young man, always willing to lend a hand in time of need. He will be sadly missed in this community by all his friends. He was baptized the 8th of September 1907 by Rev. Andrew Olson, confirmed the 12 of June, 1921 by Rev. C G. Eidnes. He will be sadly missed in the home circle. Surviving are his parents, his sister, Mrs. John Cooley of Glenwood, his brother, Herbert at home, and a large circle of relatives.
Funeral services were held from the home Thursday at 2 o'clock and at St. Paul's church at 2:30. Rev. Vaage officiated. Solos were sung at the church and the choir sang also.
He was laid to rest in the St. Pauli cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry and Bennie Bjokne, Paul Danielson, Melvin Anderson and Johnnie and Edwin Thompson. A large circle of friends last tribute to the deceased at the home and church. Sympathy is extended by this community to the nearest relatives in their hour of sorrow.
