<b>Jacob Solliday</b>, like his father, was an eminent clockmaker and followed that vocationin connection with farming in Bedminster for many years. On arriving at manhood he purchased a farm near the Weisel homestead, and lived there on until 1812, when he sold it to his son Peter and removed to Milford township, where he died April 15, 1815. aged seventy-seven years. He married June 10, 1773, Barbara Loux, born April 24. 1754,died April 3, 1829, daughter of Peter Loux, born 1706, who came from Rotterdam in the "Friendship," September 20. 1738, and settled in Bedminster, where he purchased a farm of 175 acres adjoining Frederick Solliday, which became the property of his grandson, John Solliday, clockmaker, eldest son of Jacob and Barbara, in 1790. The children of Jacob and Barbara (Loux) Solliday were: John, born 1776; Peter, born September 24. 1783, of whom presently; Samuel, born July 27, 1789; George, Catharine, Nancy, Mary.

The petition of Mary Soliday was presented and read thereby showing that she is a minor above the age of Fourteen years and a Daughter of Jacob Soliday, late of the Township Milford decd and being entitled to some estate from her deeased Father, and having no guardian to tkae are of said Estate, therefore oraying the Court some person as Guardian ? aforesaid.
Therefore the Court granted the prayer of the Petitioner an appointed Frederick Hess? Guardian of said minor.
