Gordon Whitfield Erlandson passed into the presence of the Lord on December 8, 2009 at Carmel Hills Retirement Center, 2801 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226.

Gordon was born on September 10, 1923, at Lowry, Minnesota. His parents were George and Minnie (Holen) Erlandson. He married Isabel Barron on May 19, 1950 at Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Gordon survived a severe attack of Polio in an epidemic in 1946. He was treated by Sister Elizabeth Kenny in the Kenny Institute in Minneapolis. He entered the University of Minnesota in 1955, where he earned his B.S., M.S., and PhD. Degrees. He taught Agricultural Economics at North Dakota State University at Fargo, North Dakota from 1965 until retirement in 1984. At North Dakota State University, He had the pleasure of being Faculty Adviser to the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Chapter on campus for many years. He considered it a high point in his career.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his oldest brother Wallace and his wife Eleanor. He is survived by his wife Isabel, at 2801 Carmel Road apartment 23, Charlotte NC 28226, two sisters, Gertrude Swift of Modesto, California, and Agnes Hagerup of Juneau, Alaska, and two brothers, Harold (Ellen) of Minneapolis, and George (Kathleen) of Glenwood, Minnesota, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Carmel Hills on January 9, 2010 at 6 PM.
