Bio: Ella Lee TeigenElla Holen Teigen passed away on Mar. 31 at the Community Hospital in Glenwood, at the age of 63 years & 10 months.The deceased was born May 27, 1876 at Lesje, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, of the parents John Holen & Karoline Loftingmoe Holen. She was baptized & confirmed in Lesje Lutheran Church. The family immigrated to America in 1892 & settled in Glenwood Township.Ella Holen married George Teigen Jan 13, 1898. To this union were born 2 daughters, Marie & Evelyn. Mrs. Teigen’s entire married life was spent on the farm home in Reno township with the exception of 3 years at Dooley, Montana. She was an active member of the St. Pauli Lutheran Church and its organizations.She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Marie, Mrs. Raymond Doherty of Fountain, MN & Evelyn of Sioux City, IA; 3 sisters, Mrs. Peder Gandrud of Glenwood, Mrs. Adolph Nelson of Alamo, N. D., Mrs. Walter Gilbert of Ashton, Ill.; 2 brothers, Math Holen of Leyden, N. D. and Ole Holen of Ray, N. D.; and 3 grandchildren, Bernhard, Helen & Lorraine Doherty of Fountain, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother John Holen of Ray, N. D. and a sister, Olga, Mrs. Guy Hockett of Havre, Montana.Memorial based on a longer article which appeared in The Pope County Tribune, Glenwood, MN of April 11, 1940.
